That’s A Wrap 2016

I thought before I load the kids into the car and hit the road to visit family for the holidays, I’d squeeze in one last post for the year. A bit of a reflection back on the images I created, companies I was fortunate to work with, and the vehicles which found their way in front of my lens during 2016.

Fall, Framing, and PHOTOGraphie 2015

Fall has officially arrived, and it’s definitely starting to feel like it outside here in Vancouver. I’ve been finding myself reaching for a sweater more and more while heading out the front door lately.

Along with the cooler weather, also came the news two of my automotive images have been chosen to be on display during the PHOTOGraphie Festival Open Exhibition taking place Sept. 25-27. It’s an honor to be selected by the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC) and Artworks Gallery to be apart of an event full of amazing creatives. I’m looking forward to attending the VIP event on Friday evening for the opening of the festival.

Tear Sheets: Bonhams – Quail Lodge Auction Catalog

A month or so ago you may have caught my posts regarding two shoots I completed for client, Bonhams. If you missed them, you can click HERE & HERE to have a look.

I received the catalog those images were created for via courier this morning. And I still get excited to see the final results from client shoots, especially when in print form. So much seems to be going digital these days – having the opportunity to experience the work on printed paper, not only seeing it, but smelling and feeling it is still something I love.

Just When I Thought I Had Decent Balance

I have to admit, lately I’ve really dropped the ball with keeping up with my blog posts. I know I committed to two posts per week with the hope of an additional one here and there, but lately, something has gotten away from me more than I expected – that something is time! I can’t complain since the main reason is I’ve been fortunate to be busy with work – adding three new clients this past month (if I find the time I’ll do a separate blog post about them). I hope I never find myself complaining about being too busy – I’m grateful to have the opportunity to make a living with something I love to do.  But one thing I’m figuring out quickly is I need to learn balance between work, family, and rest. Otherwise, it all has the potential of getting away from me. That said, I hope to find more opportunity to spend on the blog. With exciting projects coming up, I look forward to sharing them with you. So please bare with me as I find this balance that so many other people struggle with finding as well.

1962 Jaguar E-Type for New Client, Bonhams

This past year I’ve been fortunate to see my client list expand, sometimes at a fairly slow rate, and other times to my surprise a few are added at once. Either way, I’m always grateful for the opportunity to work with all of them to create the images they need. And it’s certainly isn’t any different with my latest addition, Bonhams. If you’re familiar with the auction, fine art, and collectors market, then you’re probably familiar with their name – being one of the world’s oldest and largest auctioneers.

So being approached by them to photograph for their Collectors’ Motorcars department is an honor.

Our first shoot together took place this past weekend with this stunning 1962 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 Roadster.
