Since it’s Wednesday I figured an image of a wagon was appropriate for this post. #WagonWednesday
This past weekend was a great one. I had the opportunity to spend some time with a few car friends I haven’t seen much of through the winter months, and my wife and I saw Furious 7 at the theater – and yes, I was fighting to hold back the tears at the end. Like so many in the car community the Fast & Furious movies all left an impact on me, especially this last installment following the passing of actor Paul Walker. I honestly can’t think of another movie or passing of an actor which affected me as much as this, and I know I’m not alone with these feelings.
I also had an opportunity to hang out with friend, and amazing filmmaker Jonny Sundell. It’s been two years now since we started the Box One Collective, and with this past year we have both been fortunate to be busy with separate freelance work, but haven’t had the chance to team up for any recent Box One projects. This weekend we found a little time to hangout over a meal to talk about the industry and what we both have experienced – good & bad – in the past year with our businesses. I can’t help but come away from conversations like these with Jonny motivated and inspired, even when some of the topics can make us a little frustrated.
But I digress… after our meal we headed out to find a location where I could take some photos of Jonny’s Avant which he recently fitted with a brand new set of concave Rotiform NUE wheels. Since it was dark out, I decided to try my hand at some light painting. Above is the final result, and below are the six images/exposures I used to blend the composite together in Photoshop.
I wont go into any heavy details on the processing of the shot, but if you have any questions I’ll be more than happy to answer them in the comment section below.
That’s it for this post. If you’re a Fast & Furious fan and have yet to see the final film, I highly recommend heading to a theater right now to view it… and don’t forget the box of tissues!!
Thank you for taking the time to view my photography!
