This week’s Before & After is of Mitch’s Toyota JZX100 we shot for a Box One Collective video last summer.
The before image of this shot might be a little deceiving since it’s only a base shot which I take before I start lighting anything with my strobe. I generally underexpose a stop or two depending on the scene and the mood/look I’m trying to go for. It can be different for each car.
Once I have my base exposure set, that’s when I head in and start lighting different sections of the car with my strobe. An image like this becomes a composite of approximately 6 separate exposures – give or take an exposure or two.
When I am finished blending each exposure into one, then I move onto adding my receipt of fixes and adjustments in Lightroom and Photoshop.
