Last Friday could have been coined Fanboy-Friday while I spent the day photographing and driving the 2017 Jaguar F-Pace R-Sport from Jaguar of Richmond.
Last year I had the opportunity to spend a day with a Jaguar F-Type (you can find the post here), and I explained how much I loved that car and how Jaguars were one of my favourites early on as a child.
I think what initially attracted me to the manufacturer were the hood ornaments found on the older MK2s, then followed by the E-Type which also caught my attention. But it wasn’t until the introduction of the F-Type coupe a few years back where my affection for Jaguar was reignited.
When I was having my fun last year in the F-Type, something new was hitting the showroom floor, something very different for Jaguar, their first attempt at an SUV Crossover and I couldn’t wait to someday have a chance to not only photograph one but to climb behind the wheel and drive one.
A little over a year later, the opportunity presented itself, and the F-Pace didn’t disappoint at all. It made me a fan instantly.
Hands down the F-Pace has been the most fun I’ve had driving an SUV. Maybe because once I was behind the wheel and sport mode was selected, it didn’t feel like I was driving a sport utility one bit.
It had me the second I heard that distinctive exhaust note and my body was pressed back into the leather seat upon acceleration.
Everything inside and out of this SUV is what you would expect from Jaguar. The detail, comfort, and straight up luxury experience is all there.
Following my day with the Jaguar F-Pace, I’ve come to the conclusion that my “perfect” garage would house both the F-Type and F-Pace, both for different purposes but both producing the same experience. #FanBoy
